Last Friday, we went to Singapore's 1st Rock n Roots Festival, featuring the likes of Buddy Guy and The Gipsy Kings. The boy was fairly excited to see Buddy play in the legendary way that he does. He hardly seemed to be a 70 over year old guy at the rate he was hitting the strings on his guitar.

Also featured were the Bueno Vista Social Club, and to be honest, I wasn't totally excited when they got on stage. I'll be the first to admit I didn't have the slightest idea who they were, but the kind of music they played was simply hard for me to appreciate. To add to our entertainment, we had a bunch of show-offs who obviously went to the the fest simply to show off their Salsa dance moves. I wouldn't call it dancing, more moving, in a choreographed manner really.

The festival was held at the Marina Promenade, just behind the Singapore Flyer. The area dedicated to it was a lot smaller than I was used to, of course it's a much smaller scale than the West Coast Blues and Roots. For the price, the latter is much more worth it of course. But I shall not complain or compare.

These photos were taken from my humble iPhone camera. As trend would have it, once again I left my memory card at home while happily carrying around my camera. Smart innit?

Double exposure on the Night Camera application.

Our view as the sun set, pretty stunning I reckon.
